About Me
Hello, I’m Beth.
I’d like to welcome you to my website. Your landing here leads me to believe that you are likely experiencing some challenges in your life, and are searching for support as you approach and conquer these trials. I’ve worked with hundreds of clients, both couples and individuals, using clinically tested and evidence-based interventions. I also incorporate my own personal creative insights and tools while approaching each individual therapeutic experience.
My Journey:
As a young child, I was always interested in what inspired people to act in specific ways. I was filled with so many questions: What motivated some people to be so kind? How could others act with such hostility? Was behavior inherited from families? Why did some individuals have friends, and assimilate so easily, while others struggled to interact and belong? I pondered and analyzed countless characters in books and on television while on my quest to discover what made people truly tick. I majored in Communication Studies at UCLA and spent the first ten years of my professional career in Television Production. This experience has given me not just a unique perspective into the dynamics of the entertainment industry, but the overwhelming stress of high paced careers as well.
Following my time in the entertainment industry, I spent 15 years working part-time running a small design business and raising my three children. As they got older, I worked as a college and career counselor, realizing that I was passionate about helping adolescents and young adults. Encouraging the students to think deeply and mindfully as they contemplated their futures, seeing their transformations and empowerment was extremely satisfying and energizing.
It was this counseling work that led me to graduate school at Pepperdine University, pursuing a Masters in Clinical Psychology. I furthered my training by specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, with an emphasis in several theoretical orientations.
I believe that I bring both an empathic and solution-focused approach to the therapeutic process. I offer a place for one to heal, as well as a place for growth. In our time together, I will share tools with you that you can carry for the rest of your life. After years of research and analyzing why we behave as we do, I’ve come to the understanding that we all really want to be seen and heard. I look forward to offering you support in a safe, trusting, and confidential space.
If you’re ready, I am here. I look forward to connecting. Please contact me for a free 30-minute phone consultation.
